Idaki Shin Tanzania Concert "Torch of Peace" Torch of Peace Message by Idaki Shin A baby is born and cries. Its scream, emerging body and soul, commemorates the moment of enlightenment encountering this world. This is also the first speech addressed to the world, connected with something superior to oneself, and anticipating future creation. As the baby is not accepted as it really is by the surrounding world, society, and people, so it knows nothing but to cry out against this world, inconsistent with the nature of its life. The idea of peace, in turn, is lost when the scream of a baby is neglected or misinterpreted. Then the scream of a new born baby embodies the pain of a man who is destined to live a miserable life, with a future deprived of peace, as well as its sorrow at fitting into a prefabricated personality. Peace has eternal meaning for all life forms, to which a rich and beautiful nature is indispensable. Tanzania knows the origin of human species. It is proud to be one of the richest lands in nature on this planet. People used to be healed, in the midst of its rich nature, where their soul shines brilliantly. People are filled with joy to live a beautiful life, both internally and physically. No life form is created by mankind, while all new-born life filling the earth makes it shine beautifully. Thus my music is the powerful scream of a new born baby leading towards construction of a peaceful future: each sound generated improvisationally resonates with vast nature, expressing this marvelous energy driving forth from the core of the soul towards peace. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the United Republic of Tanzania, and to its related organizations and individuals, for providing me this precious opportunity to realize this concert designed to show the way for peace at this crucial moment of the history of mankind. Idaki Shin

Members of the Committee include the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tanzania, Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism. The Embassy of Tanzania in Japan and the Japanese NGO, NPO Koma. The Southern African Development Community (SADC) is involved in promoting development initiatives among its member states in an environment of peace, democracy and political stability since 1992. The Torch of Peace Idaki Shin Concert fits very well in the objectives SADC. The message of peace that resonates from Mr. Idaki Shin's music could not have come to us at a more opportune time as wars and threats of war dominate the current world events. I have personally felt the power of peaceful rejuvenating of soul and mind as I participated in several of the Shin Idaki's concerts in Tokyo I, therefore, appeal to all peace loving people to do their utmost to support NPO Koma and other co-organizers to make the Torch of Peace Concert a great success. Let us together strive to rid the world of the horrors of war! E.E.E. MTANGO |
